If you follow us on Twitter I’m sure you’re sick to death of hearing me talking about Ian’s Pizza on Clark. We attended the second vegan pizza tasting invite-only event they did a few weeks ago and saw it as a huge success for both Ian’s and Chicago Soydairy (we supplied Teese Vegan Cheese for the pizzas).
Why is this so exciting to us? Well for starters there aren’t many late night pizza places in Chicago serving Teese (or any vegan cheese for that matter). NYC has gotten this great treatment for some time so it’s about time we get it too! Ian’s is a great pizza place that started in Wisconsin as a late night college pizzeria with cheap slices. After having moved to Chicago they see vegan pizza as their next logical step! We’re glad they came to us for help with this.
Below are some photos from the tasting. They sampled 4 or 5 different pizzas. Highlights were without a doubt the veggie heavy farmers market pizza and the insanely rich mac n’ cheese pizza. I still feel full almost two weeks later!
Ian’s is doing a public event for this on Monday August 10th. This is just a one-off event so far and they are not doing slices, only full pies. If you’re in Chicago and you want to try a really fantastic pizza made with Teese (trust us it, they made a killer pie) we urge you to mark it on your calendar and make sure you order one. If this night is a success we hope to see it as a permanent placement on their menu!
