Delisi’s Does Deep Dish Vegan with Teese

In true Chicago Style, Delisi’s Pizzeria in West Rogers Park makes amazing deep dish pizza as well as thin crust pies (with square pieces and all) and panzerottis (think deep fried calzone-y goodness.) What makes this place exceptional, is that they do it all VEGAN as well as traditional.

The masters of the Chicago pie have been using Teese cheese as well as Upton’s amazing seitan meat substitutes to wow local and traveling vegans alike with pizza perfection we all thought we’d never have again.

They are also offering our Temptation chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream for those with self-control for the pizza portion of the night and room for dessert.

The best news is, they deliver! And they are open LATE! Kitchen closes at 1:30am people. 1-30-A-M.

Check ‘em out on GrubHub or stop by the spot to experience the friendly local bar flavor we at CSD love about this place.

Panzerotti with giardineara, yummmmmm. Love Delisi’s!

I just tried calling there (Feb 14th 2010) and the phone line was disconnected.

Not a good sign, but then again reading the review on Happy Cow it does not sound like they really take the vegan customer seriously.

    Has anyone had great experiences?

    Mark-
They are shut down temporarily due to some building permit issues from the previous owners but expect to re-open soon.

We have all had wonderful experiences there. While the staff might not be as well versed in veganism as strictly veg places, both the owners are usually on-site and looking to make all their clientele, vegan and otherwise, happy with their experience. I’d recommend Delisi’s without hesitation.
